2/14/25

    Wednesday Jan 21 Trail Report;

Most of our trails are open with the exception of the Black bridge trail on the twins.  We went over to The field near Swain pond and turned back at Horseshoe valley.  We need additional snow to make this area work so please be patient.  117 was just groomed today and the conditions are pretty good.  On the Rangeley end there are still a couple of feeder streams that are open on South Bog trail.  We added brush and covered them with snow on Friday, but we need more snow to work with.  16 is still in good shape with the exception of the area behind Roxbury pond that has a small wet area.  We have started grooming 16 east of Byron over to Weld area.  As of now we are stopping at the pit until we get permission to go to the lake.

    Trail report Jan 16 11:10

Connector trail 16 from Byron extending over to Roxbury pond was groomed today.  Thin conditions are behind the pond trail, some wet spots.  Tonight we groomed from Byron to Rangeley connector 117N.  Trail conditions are very good and hard.  At south bog trail there is an open feeder stream that we filled with brush.  Not enough snow to cover over it because conditions around it are icy.  As always watch your speed and stay right on the trails especially going around corners.  We appreciate your continued support to our local businesses.  Bill Hillys and the Knotty Moose Tavern.

    1/7/2026

117 south of the Byron #6 road is still not groomed.  Deep water bars are preventing us from coming down off of West mt..  I inspected the trail on Monday and it’s passable, slow speeds and caution are advised for this area.  Behind Roxbury pond to Meadowbrook bridge was dragged by snowmobiles yesterday.  We will be running the groomer thru on Friday to finish this trail.  Thanks for the volunteers for there time on helping out.  Horseshoe valley trail is still closed where it need more snow due to rocky conditions.  It will be a long winter for riding.  Right now trails are just minimal so go slow.  If your not a member please join, and yes we accept donations.  Every bit helps.  If you see our operators on the trail a big wave of thanks makes it feel that our efforts are worthwhile.  Thanks

    2025

02/28/25 Groomer update both our groomers are down. Piston Bully for Hydraulic issues, Tucker for track adjuster repair. Hopefully we’ll have one of the machines back in service by Monday.

2/22/25 Trail report: All trails have been groomed at least twice since the snow/wind. Reports are conditions have been great. Most problem areas have been filled in. A huge thank you to our groomer operators for all their hard work. Reminder that you can encounter groomers 24/7

2/14/25: The tractors have been rolling around the clock this week. Come support us at the cook out! 117n at Byron Rd. We hope to see you there. Happy trails!

2/7/25 trail report 117 from Roxbury to Rangeley was groomed. Bunker pond trail has been panned. 16 to Roxbury pond was done earlier this week. We are planning to open the trail over the twins to horseshoe valley in the next few days.

1/31/25: 16w groomed.. it’s thin in the woods, there are hazards galore, wind blown spots near cuts and roads are thin. That being said there’s no water hazards.

117n- groomed this week. It’s thin getting out of coos canyon.

Safe to say it’s thin with hazards everywhere.

If you’re going on ride our system take your time and support our our food and spirit members.

We will not be on a regular grooming schedule until we get more snow. Do your dance! ❄️

1/29/25: Yesterday 117S from Byron to the Mexico intersection, High Trail, and Frye connector were opened up. Leaving coos canyon to 117 is very thin/very boney. 117, high trail and Frye connector had Sections of trail with good snow cover and some did not. You can expect rocks, stumps, washouts, and water bars. The end of the Frye connector trail to the crossover road was not opened up due to low snow conditions.

1/27/25: All connections to 117 will be very thin. 117 from Byron to ITS84 Oquossoc was groomed today. Roads are very good but woods sections need snow.

1/24/25: 117 from Byron to ITS84 Oquossoc was opened today. 75% is good. 25% is fair to poor. There are no ongoing grooming operations south of Byron. Our entire system is in need of snow. Best access to 117 North would be from ITS84. 117 has some spectacular views. Enjoy, and be very careful

12/15/24: SSSC trail are still closed. Please respect our landowners. Think snow!
