1/16/24 update: TRAILS ARE CLOSED. MANY HAZARDS PRESENT... The December 18th flood has devastated us. Luckily due to many donations and landowner permissions we have salvaged some of our trail system. ITS 117 from Byron to ITS 84 will be open with multiple reroutes. Connector 16 is closed from Coos Canyon to Route 120 due to bridge out/Washouts. Many trails have major washouts that need to be filled in with snow. We hope extra funding will be available later this year to fix all our bridges and washouts. Once trails open we will post updates.

Trail Update
Grooming has slowed considerably as warm days and short stretches of cold at night have left us with unreasonably small time frames. It is now officially spring so… no we aren’t closing the trails as there’s still a lot of snow on a majority of them. Is it good grooming weather? Nope sure isn’t, but it’s 3/21 and we are still riding. Enjoy what’s left and we will groom if we can.
The Frye connector trail is closed.
Please remember to respect our landowners property.
3/17/23 Trail Report
The Good- at elevation the snowpack is still impressive. Grooming will continue as long as access to those areas remain. The northern end of our system looks like mid winter still. The southern end is passable in most areas but hazards are definitely present.
The Bad- the section of trail from Coos Canyon to the Weld road is talking a beating from the sun. Mud, dirt and rocks are present. This is one of the access trails for grooming. Please note that groomers have alternate routes to access the northern tier of our trail system, those access routes are not trails to be ridden please stay on the marked trails.
Summary- it’s safe to say spring riding conditions are here. The groomers will continue on until it becomes detrimental to the equipment and our valued landowners property.
Get out and enjoy the snow while it’s here!
3/9/23 Trail update: by tomorrow night all trails will have been groomed. Day time temps have not been favorable for grooming. CAUTION: our drag slid off the side of a bridge on the ITS82 connector trail over the outlet to Roxbury pond and broke the outer edge boards. The bridge is still safe to cross. We will be replacing this bridge as well as the Meadow brook bridge on the same trail this coming fall. One bridge is 35 feet long and the other is 48 feet long. We estimate the cost to replace both will $4,600.
3/3/23 Trail report: our volunteers have been out grooming this week with both machines. I think the general consensus is “why didn’t we get this snow back in January”. This weekend will be busy due to nonresident free weekend. Please ride right and safe. And please consider a membership or donation to our club. Fuel/maintenance costs have really put a hurting on us. Thank you!
2/23/23 Trail update. Reports are that we didn’t receive as much snow as predicted. Good news is that our base has held up pretty good and any new snow is definitely going to help. There will still be some thin areas like; end of the Frye connector trail, black bridge trail where it meets ITS82, trail coming out of coos canyon, and the woods section of the bunker pond trail. All these sections are still very much passable. Our volunteers will be out in the groomers when they can. We hope everything will be done by the weekend. Please take caution because they can be out on the trail anytime of the day or night.
2/3/23 Trail report: All trails have been groomed this week. Yesterday Erik and Shawn volunteered their time to fix the water holes on connector ITS82 trail between Lohnes Farm road and the Roxbury Pond outlet. Hopefully with the deep freeze coming this will set up nicely. We have a broken track adjuster and blown hydraulic hose on the Tucker. Once it warms back up we will be working to repair these things.
1/30/22 Trail Report: 117 north/south, Frye Connector, bunker pond, twins, black bridge, connector 16, and ITS82 connector to the park and ride were groomed this week. Some trails before Thursday’s storm and some after. Trails shaping up nicely. Still some bad areas. We finally got permission from the landowner between the park and ride and ITS82 where we meet Andover. We will get this section groomed as soon as we can. Please ride with caution as there could still be hazards out there
Don’t forget to join the club and help us out thank you

3/11/22 Trail Report: I just rode my sled from Coos canyon Trail 16 to the intersection of a Loanus farm road a few open spots and icy in the corners but base is still really good. I also rode from Coos Canyon to four ponds on 117 N. same story a few open spots and Icy in others base is still solid, 117 S. from Weld Road to Noisy Brook is Passable with a few open spots and icy corners. Please get out and pack the trails Sunday after the storm and we’ll try to groom if temperature’s allow.
3/7/22 Trail Report: Trails were in great shape for this past weekend. The guys did a great job grooming the trails. We saw a record number of sleds for reciprocal weekend. The trails got hammered by Saturday. With the warm and wet weather we saw sunday, we are unsure of the conditions or when we will be able to get back out. We will keep you posted on what we find.
3/3/22 Trail Report: the guys have been working with what they can. Some areas are thin with nothing to work with. Our Tucker has had no lockers all season making some areas difficult to groom. Thank you to all the groomer operators
2/27/22 Trail Report: With this past weeks warm ups, rain, and flash freeze everything turned hard as a rock and many places were glare ice. Fridays storm helped but the snow wasn’t sticky enough to pack well. Some reports are many places saw wind damage and some trails that had moguls before the warm up are now frozen permanently. Our trails are still open but ride with extreme caution as there might be icy corners and hills and downed trees.
2/18/22 Trail Report: With the warm days and all the rain we got it looks like we lost a lot of our snow. Hopefully our base held up ok. Friday evening's freeze up will turn everything hard as a rock and I'm sure everything will be super icy. Please give our guys some time to get out there and asses the trails.
2/11/22 Trail Report: It was a tough week for us. After getting over a foot of snow last Friday the trail were rode hard. Warm temps made grooming difficult but every major trail got done at least once. A couple trails were to sticky when groomed so the final product wasn’t as good as we like but we got it flat. use caution on the Black Bridge Trail as there will be heavy equipment on the trail for the next week or so. With saturdays warm temps we ask you to please tread lightly.
2/4/22 Trail Report: Early this morning we had gotten about 6-8 inches. Snow is very heavy. Branches or trees could be in the trail now. We’ve been having electrical issues with the Tucker. No lockers currently. This will make grooming some of very steep hills difficult. Connector 16 and 16 to ITS82 was groomed earlier this week. 117, 16, 16 to ITS82, black bridge, and the twin mountain, Bunker Pond will be groomed today. Please watch out for groomer, they have the right of way
1/28/22 Trail Report: Still early season conditions! Rocks and water bars are still present. Also many hidden hazards could be out there. Connector 16, 16 to ITS82, Bunker Pond, and ITS117N were groomed this week. Twin Mountain Trail will be groomed this evening. Please ride with caution
1/21/22 Trail Report: Early season conditions! Please ride with caution as there could be hidden hazards! Rocks, water bars, branches. Bunker pond trail, Twin mountain trail, JR’s trail, ITS117s, Frye trail, and Garland pond rd/Lohnes farm rd all have been groomed in the last few days. ITS117n is being groomed early this morning. Groomer has right of way.
1/19/22 Trail Report: JR's Trail, Bunker Pond Trail, River Trail, Connector 16, and Lohnes farm Rd to ITS82 have been panned. Early season conditions! Many hazards could still be present. Please ride with caution as there could be rocks, stumps, water bars, and downed trees still. ITS117 has NOT been opened up yet
2021
3/4/21 Trail Report: Connector 16 and 117N from Coos Canyon to ITS84 were cleared yesterday. Today bunker pond trail and Twin Mountain trail will be cleared
3/3/21 Trail Report: 117S from Coos Canyon to Mexico has been cleared of blow downs as well as the trail to Frye. We turned around by route 17 and didn’t go down to the Frye crossover road. Please have patience while we get to other trails. The trails are rock solid so grooming is slow going. If you venture out please ride with caution as there could be many hazards.
2/22/21 Trail Report: We saw a lot of traffic over the last week. With no new snow we are starting to get a couple rough and thin areas on our southern section of trails. Some warm temps are in the forecast so we won't be able to groom on those days. We will do what we can with what we have
2/11/21 Trail Report: The groomer has been out almost every day. Trails are shaping up nicely. There are still a few rough and thin areas. Most water bars have been filled. Please ride with caution because the groomer can be on the trails at any time of the day/night.
2/5/21 Trail Report: By the end of today all trails will have been groomed/Packed since the storm, some trails even twice. Since the temps have been around 32 during the day expect the trails to not hold up to sled traffic. We've been able to fill most water bars but there may still be a few out there so please ride with caution. The drag is still hitting rocks so some areas are still thin. Groomer may be on the trail at any time of the day so please be careful.
2/2/21 Trail Report: We got some much needed snow! And it’s still snowing as I write this. The groomer went out and panned connector 16 to the end of Lohnes Farm Road and Bunker Pond Road today. Please be patient, we will get to the other trails as soon as we can
1/30/21 Trail Report: 117N, 117S, and the trail to Frye were groomed. Most water bars were filled but there’s still some out there. some sections on the south section and very thin, rocky, and icy.
1/25/21 Trail Report: This past weekend 117N and bunker pond/twins trail were packed. 117N had downed trees cut and water holes filled with brush. Black bridge trail was gone through with sleds, not to bad of conditions after being closed for the last two seasons. Trail will need signing and brushing.
1/22/21 Trail Report: Yesterday we packed connector 16. We tried to fill wash outs and water bars where we could. Need more snow, trail is very rough.
1/20/21 Trail Report: last night the Tucker went on connector 16 to fill in water bars and pack Turk Mountain. Some Water bars are still there but are definitely better than before.
1/19/21 Trail report: Yesterday the groomer went out and rolled Connector 117 South down into Frye (Reminder, there is a logging operation on this trail by Noisy brook. We will be road sharing for about a mile until we hit our High Trail) Next we went up the Bunker Pond trail. This is very early season conditions. Many hazards are still present. Always ride with caution because there could be a downed tree, water bar/hole, or groomer around the next corner. We will be working on packing the rest of the trail system this week. Work still needs to be done to our drag before we can take that out. Thank you to all those who have supported us through volunteering, memberships, and donations!
